Half watt laser etching paper. It’s much more difficult than wood: the high albedo means the laser won’t start cutting unless the paper is flat, the laser is very well focussed, and the laser dwells on one point for almost a second before starting moves. It’s like oxy-acetylene cutting: you have to get one point hot before you can move.
I cut from right to left and changed parameters as I went. The slash across the EL is because I forgot to turn off the laser after one move.
